Camper living isn't bad if you can find your way to some BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land. It's public and rent free. Then you need some cash money job. Oh and a new identity.

Maybe take it a piece at a time. Then Stop and reflect on what you read. Like 5 seconds at the end of a paragraph, a minute after a chapter.

I read as if I would read it out loud. If I try to go faster, I lose stuff.

Maybe branch out a bit my man. Try "Fahrenheit 451." It's incredible to me how many authors from decades past nailed the shift in society as technology is integrated more and more in our lives.

Maybe you want some hard scifi. (There's a difference)

Scifi is a big umbrella my friend and from what I gather you stuck your toe in a muddy pond and decided you have a problem with the ocean.
