Advanced virtual reality / brain machine interface devices. We have already heard from early BMI companies that they can forsee selling their products to consumers at prices as low as 10-thousand dollars (ex. neuralink). It seems like, similar to cars and homes, people will be very careful with such purchases and they will be long term commitments.

This seems unethical. Life extension should be equally available.

I think at least one difference here is that "treatments" are distributable and dividable in a way that housing isn't. We have a housing shortage in a way that I don't think we could have a "life extension medication shortage"— ie. whereas any degree of life extension is an advantage, a house is only beneficial as a whole. Life extension seems easier to share equitably. But, yeah, I don't disagree that life extension won't be fairly distributed without hard or impossible political work.
