Helly Hansen bivy boots from Marks. Very warm, these are best for cold weather, below 0. You can stand in them out in the cold and still stay warm. Light, waterproof and breathable. Small enough footprint to drive your car. They have the composite fibre material on the sole for traction on ice too.

Look at where and when it was made is all you need to know really. Made cheaper for more profit.

I have one from the 90s, it’s cool having something that was quality made in the US, supported jobs and families, built to last generations, knowing you can depend on it.

My favourite is deerskin which is less dense than cowhide so they feel warmer. It’s a nice durable soft light leather, get them lined with thiinsulate liner and they won’t break the back either. I use them on a motorcycle too. I have wool lined gloves and I’m not sure they’re worth the focus.
