I search for backgrounds, my favorite tool is photopea the website, but it is more advanced than a phone app. It’s harder to learn in the beginning, but definitely worth it in 3 or so months of infrequent use

Avoid using parts of the image that have already been cropped unless your edit can “replace that part. Instead try to focus more on the middle krampus and child. This way you have more of the body to work with :)

Not a photoshop battle, but this may help. Although the background is actually mostly real colors (taken with a microscope and camera using a few light tricks) the praying mantis you are looking at is made of around 4 photos stitched together. Edit this photo is split in three parts (each day I worked on it) by imperfect shading. However the entire photo is made of probably 20 photos, all blended together to a degree
