Nah, I get it. I mean the city has had over 500 of these dead bodies this year. Ultimately, they're all just as dead and those lives are done. That's the primary aspect. But yeah there is a difference between firing some shots then running and stabbing/storing someone. I think this one was found out immediately but I was going to add for those who do this and live with the body in their home for months/years. It definitely makes for a more attention-grabbing story. And the video of the body is now online.

Screaming can be unnerving and obviously good to check on. Universal sign of distress. I have also seen adolescent/teen girls in groups shrieking in a distressed manner, but they were just running around acting wild. I'm not a fan of such false alarm screaming. Boy who cried wolf and all that.

Interesting. Just last month, I took photos of the stained glass window of that church where Mary is holding baby Jesus. I don't typically photograph such things, so photographing the one that's depicting the birthplace, at the church where the guy who was a minister wrote the song about the birthplace, and then learning about it 2 days before Christmas...hmmm.

I don't want to discourage looking into things - and I'd be curious, too - but typically with gunshots, you're not going to have them spaced out like that.

If a shooting takes place, the parties involved almost always: 1) leave immediately and go anywhere else but there, 2) die or get into an ambulance , 3) get arrested.

Highly unlikely for there to be a 10+ minute gap.

"I shot this person. I have decided after having a sandwich that I would like to shoot this person again. No one has come to stop me."

Or

"I shot this person and peeled out, but decided to come back 10 minutes later to the scene and pop off a few more."

I'll take the correction, but it seems your caps lock thank you indicates this is very important to you. It wasn't really the point of the post, which was The Fresh Prince thing being amusing -- I just meant whatever it is when shit is written this way. That's what I was looking at, where text is that way. I'll accept that that isn't Old English, but it's also not as clear as your example.

TL;DR - If you haven't seen a fighter jet at an airshow, try to. The occasional flyovers here are next to nothing in comparison. It'll blow your mind.

Dude, if you thought that was loud, I went to an airshow where the same jet was: an F-15. This thing flew right in front of us, less than 100 feet over the runway that we were on the edge of. I can't even describe it. With my ears plugged, it was still deafening. The ground, both concrete and soil, quaked. The vibrations through your feet were ridiculous. Your entire body gets pummeled by the thunderous energy of the engines. It shakes the earth and hammers through every molecule of your being. It feels like someone is punching your chest or it's going to disintegrate you.

I don't know how close to the speed of sound it was going, but it was fast. It would do the runway passes then pull straight up and turn into a dot in seconds and punch through the clouds. You'd still hear it somewhat faintly lurking above, or fade to borderline inaudible, then it would punch back through and approach until it did another apocalyptic runway pass at breakneck speed.

I was a kid when I went and it's still one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The F-15 is so badass.

Or, as Bill Burr says, "Bettah late than....NEVAH!!!"

Actually, I don't think he said that. But he lays into the Boston accent in that very manner and I began saying it to myself with his voice and that pause.

I don't want to gun debate either. The vast, vast majority of license holders are highly law-abiding. "Legally purchased" is also separate from legally carrying. This isn't your typical news story. The guns I brought up (which oddly it seems no one in the comments knew about) weren't used in a crime, as they are in most stories. So, it's very "low" on the "news stories involving guns" list, in general. But I'll still call out what he did because it wasn't safe and the CCW community checks each other quite strictly. Not really setting out to establish a ranking.

Don't even leave a running car. Adding the child really ups the ante.

Bonus on this one, he also had two guns in the center console. Article said he had a carry license, too -- really disappointing behavior from a license holder. Hopefully, the console was at least locked. Have one on your person, not in a vehicle with a child.

Don't leave your car running

Don't leave your kid in the running car

Don't leave your guns...with your kid...in the car...that ate the cat that shat in the hat that was thrown at the house that love built. (Sorry, I forget the words to it)

Just the other day, I saw a Philly Police truck with a trailer marked "Mounted Patrol" and it had 2 horses inside. I don't know every state's laws, but I believe horses are still permitted on roads (bikes, too, you psycho drivers.) Just not on highways and interstates. Side info, not exactly answers to your questions.

Yeah it's like "hey prison doesn't rehabilitate, so what should we do?" "Just let them out since it's not working." "But then won't they be wreaking havoc on the city?" "Meh."

I'd like to fully understand wtf is going on. The letting them out so quickly is unacceptable though and it's insanely unfair to the citizens and businesses. People get robbed because of this, carjacked, PTSD, beaten, killed, lose loved ones. Because violent POSs are let out. Lots of people don't want to accept it and want to love their city/home, saying it's not that bad and it's the fault of so and so, but dude. Look around. They are failing every citizen of the city.

For whatever reason, progressive policies, incompetence, zero care, all 3, is this letting everyone out so quickly why the police are on soft strike? Is it the ACAB stuff, the riots that occurred, and the fact that it's so possible that an officer will be thrown under the bus for doing their job if the court of public opinion and media machine deem it an unnecessary shoot? Does the city government not have the PPD's back?

Idk, man. But it's obvious things aren't working. Gotta understand what is actually going on before you can solve the problems.

Ahh, the recruiting bit makes sense. I figured there had to be some benefit. I've known for while that they're not just moving planes and making a trip there for that. They make it part of the training and schedule things so it's a swing-by in the process of something necessary, like getting the craft where it needs to be. It's not cheap to fly them. Thanks - I'll check out the links.

Any idea how that works? How the college gets them to do it? Do they have to pay or do various events put in a request for a flyover? I know private colleges make assloads of money, but are they spending it to get fighter jets to fly over sports games?
