Reply to Fast Motion used dramatically? by Hailstormshed
Every talks about the unforgettable opening scene of Ghost Ship, but there's another scene, shot in fast motion, that's (to me) just as jaw-dropping. It shows a series of crimes -- murders, double-crosses, triple-crosses -- and it's done in fast motion, so that you're not supposed to be able to track the shifting alliances of who's betraying who. All you can glean is that the number of people alive on the boat is dropping every few seconds, all by desperate human greed.

Reply to What's your favorite example of an actor who completely disappeared in their character with the least amount of makeup or visual effects? by mikebalsaricci
Rob Reiner once said he wished there had been a role for his actor friend Christopher Guest in The Princess Bride, forgetting that Guest was in it, as Count Rugen, the Six-Fingered Man. Guest so disappeared into the role as a sociopathic coward that the film's DIRECTOR forgot he was in it!

I've heard one secret for how big shows and movies keep their secrets is that the crew mostly does not care: doesn't care who's cast, who's in what costume, what plot points are revealed that day, etc. Has that been your experience?

Reply to Of all the movies that were rushed through production and released very quickly, which ones amazed you most with the final product? by unitedfan6191
Frozen was very rushed and changed in extraordinary ways during production from "shooting script" to what's on the screen. One reason Jennifer Lee was put in charge of animation over there: she can rebuild the airplane from its exploded chunks as it falls out of the sky.
