Cops basically should not be drinking at all. They always carry guns, even while off duty, meaning they're frequently intoxicated while armed. That's illegal in Connecticut. Seems that quite often when you hear about a cop getting in trouble, it's because they were drunk.

Maybe it's time for random testing of officers to weed out the alcohol abuse.

Moving them is the best long term solution. It's ridiculous that houses get destroyed and rebuilt every few years. Insurance will eventually refuse to cover costal areas, rates can never go high enough to cover the cost of a hurricane destroying hundreds or thousands of homes every couple years.

Nobody pays attention anymore. Drivers are looking at their phones or the in dash touchscreen, not the road, pedestrians think that right of way laws override the laws of physics so they just walk into the street without looking. Combined with a near total lack of road law enforcement, it's a recipe for disaster.

If you're walking on an unlit street at night, try wearing bright or preferably reflective clothing. I see way too many pedestrians wearing all black or dark colors, and they're not easy to see at night until you get extremely close. Leash your damn dogs too, stop letting them wander in traffic while you walk.

Buy a woodstove. It's going to get really bad in the next few years for people with oil heat. Government wants us off of fossil fuels, but we have no alternative at this time. Can't go electric, or eversource will take every penny you have, and gas isn't available in most places.

Government wants to put armed combat drones in our streets, while simultaneously disarming the civilian population.

Were quickly becoming a totalitarian police state. The next jan6th incident will be police seizing control of the country.

The state has minimum price laws to keep tax revenue high. Every single town has an overabundance of liquor stores, just find one that carries what you're looking for.

Is this for primary heating via a wood stove? If so, a few logs split up won't last long. For an occasional ambiance fires in a fireplace? You'll be set for a while as long as the split wood is stored dry.

You can rent a chainsaw and logsplitter and DIY it if you're able to operate power equipment.
