Had to keep it dark and blurred or you would see all the trash and sketchy peeps loitering there all day.

The lights are cool but be nice if they had a well lit non shady tunnel for a train station.

I think the issue is that there is 900 fees and permits used for doing a basic building these days. If you are gonna go full ignore mode might as well go the whole way.

The city will never give up revenue but they need to simplfy the process. Take away the 900 fees and just have a way better enforcement division.

Make it easier and cheaper to comply to standards. While having better enforcement and stricter fines.

Like I said though. This city loves finding 1000+ ways to take another buck from you. They will never give it up

The Merrick Garland nomination was nothing outside the powers bestowed.

Just cause a president nominates someone doesn't mean they get a automatic in. Senators wield the power.

You might need a refresher.

Its hilarious you say that in the face of administration that is currently trying to push the boundaries of what the executive is allowed to do. While using its offices FDA, EPA, HHS, Etc. to enact laws and polices without the power of congress.

Biden knows before hand that stuff wont hold up in court but does it anyways to buy months on months then hose it up longer.

He does it cause the media and his party like the policies so the blowback is minimal on his side.

This sect of members doesn't think the cities are irredeemable. They just think the leadership and politics are the reason it cant be.

Which isnt a crazy take.

The Republican party is made of a lot of different wings. The UL is more akin to fiscal conservative/constitutionalist type.

People saying but they hosted trump and supported him. That was 2016. Like saying the Patriots support murder cause they had Hernandez on the team before.

They have 100% pivoted off Trump for some time. If Trump is running the Union league will side with his primary opponent.

This is a complete spin article.

I would suggest reading into it yourself and realize the issues. Its not great.

Its also funny how often they switch from greater area to only philly to find the numbers they are looking for.

Its also funny seeing some of the numbers go against statements they have made over the past year boasting recovery.

Cause you are just being dense.

The city should be worried that other cities are trying to pouch a already under staffed force.

Especially when most places offer a better standard of living. Philly just isn't up and coming like it was 10-15 years ago. The outlook is bleak and the government here has zero answers.

The police dont want to be here and people dont want to work for the police here.

Its clear as day the disaster that is coming when the force starts retiring in droves. They are predicting it and the only response they got was a 1 year moving gap

You realize the shittiest schools in the DC area are on average twice as good as Philly.

Actually some of the stuff your saying is straight garbage. Ive spent a fair amount of time in DC and its clear your just another Philly is amazing over everything nut

Yes housing its worse off but $26,000 is def enough to get situated on your situation before earning just below 70K. Thats right below the recommended 76K.

DC cost of living is only worse cause housing. It beats expenses on basic needs stuff like food, transportation, healthcare, etc.

First off those numbers are insanely skewed are flat wrong.

A quick search on homesnap yields plenty of homes half the price listed at a 25 min commute. Extend that to 45 min and the possibilities are endless.

The only thing is the home prices and if you can work that out its endlessly better in every regard.

Cost of living only matters if they are buying a home in DC/etc.

$20,000 sign on bonus and a $6,000 temp renting/living expense provided is really good if you are ok commuting which many be ok with who dont want to live in philly limits.

DC is still way cheaper than say NYC.

People are overstating the cost of living issue

Axios is trash and on top of that this is just a article to remind you everything is global warming.

Also this article contradicts itself every other paragraph on its global warming claims and assumptions of what global warming is.

** If you want people to buy into and support change to protect the planets environments people like this and the way they try to present everything as global warming by conveniently having it mean everything is how nobody cares.

Pizza Shackmaxon is good pizza, though the entire process/joke it is to get pizza from there just isnt worth it.

Also insanely overprized. 4 Bucks a slice and 22 a pie.

I know city prizes but basically doubling the price compared to places outside the city.

"It was not immediately clear how, or if, the committee’s report might influence any decision by lawmakers on when or whether they might seek to impeach Krasner. Lawrence said the committee would continue its investigation and prepare a final report before the end of the legislative session that will include recommendations."

Its just a report to report how the investigation is going. The final report will carry a recommendation.

Also the Inquirer is trash which uses click bait headlines and quotes itself basically.

"Instead, the 63-page report takes aim at aspects of Krasner’s tenure, highlighting issues including a declining conviction rate, an increasing number of firearms cases being withdrawn or dismissed, and high staff turnover, seeking to link those issues and others to the city’s ongoing gun violence crisis."

Pretty normal stuff
