If you're mad about the straw ban and hate paper straws, you should know that there are far better biodegradable straws that are comparable in price to paper straws and don't break down while you're drinking. I use bamboo, but I've also used straws made from PLA, sugar cane, seaweed, and other things. All superior to paper straws in every way.

Any business that's uses paper straws hates you and is punishing you for the fraction of a penny per $2 drink that it costs them to comply with the law.

I keep a box of bamboo straws in my car so I never have to use a paper straw (or plastic straw).

And when they double down on their lie, you should tell them that obviously it shouldn't be a problem for you to go into court and say they were driving the car, because obviously the police already know that. Hopefully you have some proof they borrowed the car. And never let them drive your car again.

I had one dude sit at a light after it turned green, so I honked after a couple of seconds. He still sat. Other people honked, he still sat. Light turned yellow, he still sat. Light turned red, he still sat. When the light turned green again everyone in line honked in unison, and he finally moved.

My car chimes when the light turns green so you can't miss it.

I hate door holding etiquette. I don't want you to hold the door for me and make me feel like I gotta rush, I can use my own damn hands.

The ACA requires insurance companies to spend 80% of premiums on benefits, so effectively any cost savings have to be passed on to customers. Customers won't see that in the form of a cost reduction because all they're really doing is slowing the rate of healthcare cost inflation. But that still saves the customer money compared to the status quo.

I think there's two reasons for this. 1. We're conditioned to view left to right movement as advancing, as is typical in movies and stuff. Not sure if movies are the cause of that conditioning or an effect. 2. Maps have north on top, east on the right, west on the left, so we default to interpret it as if the viewer is facing north and Washington is moving west to Pennsylvania.

The painter lived for a time in Philadelphia so I doubt he was confused about the geography. I guess the left-right movement conditioning wasn't a thing in the 1850s, or he would have painted them facing the other way. Or maybe he wanted to depict the return trip since they crossed at night, but that'd be a weird thing to paint.

I think it's hilarious that you seem to think you hold mainstream views in a state that has one of the lowest rates of gun ownership in the country, and consequently one of the lowest rates of gun violence in the country. And we keep voting for the gun grabbers because we like it that way.
