250K and safe. You must choose one of these things or you will be disappointed. Western mass has more options and I like the vibe better personally. More rural/cozy towns out there.

Parking is 40 a day and commuter rail is 26 between fare and parking. My office is near DTX in Boston so that’s a good 3 hrs as well round trip. It is a ton of money but we also live in a cheaper house so the savings are massive when you factor in housing costs.

In order of durability, paint protection film > ceramic coating > sealant > wax. PPF isn't worth it unless it's a really high-end car IMO. If you care about your car, I'd get it detailed professionally and have it ceramic coated. I personally don't really care, so I just wash it really well once or twice a year, clay bar it, polish it using Rupes sealant.

Reply to Kimchi by hazynut420

am Korean and my mom makes homemade kimchi, but H Mart Quincy might be a good place to look. I used to hit up H Mart Burlington all the time. At the very least you'll get some authentic stuff. Have tried generic brands from the grocery and they taste really weird.

Median sale price was just under 700K in Falmouth in recent data even with astronomical mortgage rates. It's also important to note that we have created an incredible amount of money + wealth in financial assets in the last 10 yrs. Even with the recent bear market in growth stocks, Apple was trading below $20 a share in 2013 and is now 130ish after having spiked all the way to $180 in 2021 The S&P 500 has more than tripled since the low in 2012. So when put in context, I'm not very surprised that houses have gone way up in nominal terms.

The people who have truly been f---ed over, are the people who have been making the same income for the past 10 yrs without promotions or wage increases and benefits largely unchanged. Folks living hand-to-mouth also have very little participation in financial assets like stocks/real estate, so this is truly a triple whammy when you also factor in COL increases due to food/energy/rent.

Got Mitsubishi minisplits at our place last year which I found out no longer qualify for the rebate. Put a Bosch system in to replace an old AC ducted system literally yesterday at our rental and made damn sure the AHRI is on the qualified list this time.

Def nice to have a nat gas boiler on extremely cold days. The efficiency of even the best HP today drops significantly the colder it gets. I’d go IBC combi if you need both a water heater and gas boiler. We have oil heat and I plan on removing the tank and boiler down the road or converting to wood pellets.

I believe in 2023 you can get 750 back for a heat pump water heater as well which can also help control humidity in a basement.

What are your interests? I Always find it easier to find common ground if you join a club of some sort or if you become a gym rat and run into the same people over time. I guarantee if you look hard enough, you’ll be able to find any niche in this city.
