I agree that you need to love yourself no matter your weight. However, I do not agree that being obese is good for you. Basically self love should not be tied to physical appearance. Health is usually adversely affected by being obese (ie -a bmi of 30+ on a non athlete).

I agree with you. However, am a random commenter on Reddit, I do not feel like I was trying to be rude. I also don’t feel any love for organicpumpkin, although I feel empathy for their situation. I only made my suggestions as someone that was emotionally manipulated and abused and had to leave behind my entire family in order to begin to heal. Sometimes, you have to cut the repeat trauma causers out so you can learn to begin healing. Thank you for your insight.

Yes! I’m so tired of people telling me to watch my carbon footprint and me try to buy sustainable even though if the corporations only offered sustainable it wouldn’t be so damn hard.

I am also in the US and have a similar experience although my grandparents came from working class and then my grandfather was a partner in a large firm. My parents went backwards to working class. All of them stayed near family. Now my husband and I are professionals and live in his hometown (far from my family), however, his siblings live around 2 hours away and not near any family and are also professionals. In our town there are many working class families, I would even say the majority of households, and I think some of why they stay put is due to lack of perceived opportunities and a sense of doing what they know. I think a lot of people kind of just do what they were brought up to know. Similar to financial literacy.

Fish are smart. My mollies look at me when they are hungry and get excited when I walk over. Also, I read something on how fish do indeed feel pain. I think it was something on how Japanese chefs kill the fish used for sushi as if they feel pain hey are not as good.
