Reply to Good Cuban sandwich in the city? by nationdecay
There used to be a food truck that came to McKeldin Square by the harbor on Wednesday that had the best Cuban in the city, and bomb fries (when they were fresh), but can't find them since the pandemic. If anyone remembers that food truck, comment with their name.
Cubans are not hard to make at home, and they will be far superior to anything you can get at a restaurant.

IDK about cheap beer anymore, but I'd say they can get packed, particularly in the summer. I've been to Southern Provisions, Claddaghs, and El Buffalo when they were "shoulder to shoulder" before.
Don't forget that St. Patrick's Day starts around 11am or sooner in Canton square :)

Reply to James Beard Awards recognize Ekiben and Foraged chefs — but not Cindy Wolf by Cody_in_Baltimore
Cindy Wolf and Wolf-Foreman have had their time in the sun. They were once good, but now both their food and service are lacking. Almost all of their restaurants are overrated. Baltimore has much more to offer. I'd like to see Chef Jesse Sandlin get a nod.

Reply to Thinking of moving to canton about 3-4 blocks up from Boston street. The house has a basement. Will the basement get flooded if it rains heavy? by earthsfriend
I live a block north from the Square, and I would say that my partially finished basement can sometimes get a little moist/damp in certain spots when there's a heavy rain, but it's not disastrous or damaging -- just get a good dehumidifier.

Not technically Canton, but I'd recommend Sally O's in Highlandtown.
