I think the cheapest way to approach this would be to make an enclosure for it. Have the lid/door on hinges, it won't be 100% water tight though but will give better protection than just having it mounted under the awning.
If you silicone up the exposed parts of the TV you run the risk of blocking the heat dissipation from the electrics and this could damage the internals.
