In my opinion, this location is awesome; they have so much to choose from, a huge variety, all at a lower cost compared to everywhere else. Granted, prices have gone up, but they’re still significantly cheaper than the other places.

If you’re worried about crowds, might I suggest, checking Google they usually show you what times are busy and slow (like a graph). It’s usually pretty helpful. If you go when it’s “slower” you’ll be able to check it out and see if you like it there.

As long as you keep to yourself and just be aware of your surroundings at night you’ll be fine. If it’ll make you feel a bit safer you could carry a pocket pepper spray on your keychain (I have one and never had to use it). Give it a month and you’ll get used to the area and get a feel of how the neighborhood is.

There are many posts in this sub on where to find certain foods, nightlife, etc. that I think you’d find useful. Good luck and welcome to Worcester!

Well said! I agree with everything you pointed out.

I will add, that there are many reasons we would benefit from wheelie bins for trash. Many people put trash out the night before (some I’ve seen 4-6 days before trash day), if we had the bins this would deter rodents and any animal ripping open the bag; eating the scraps and making a mess of the streets. The bins would be large enough to fit several bags which would be less effort on the employees (instead of tossing each bag into the truck, they would just push it over to the lever thing; some apartments have excessive amounts of trash bags out on trash day).

That makes sense.

But this one time I turned onto a dead end where there were cars already waiting on both sides of the truck (blocked in by cars parked on both sides of the street- but he could’ve moved up a bit) to get by, this truck driver most definitely saw these cars waiting. When he pulled up he did so a little and still made us all wait. Im not even exaggerating when I say I was there for no less than 5 minutes sitting waiting for him to move. Normally I would’ve been a little more patient but I was on my way to drop a DoorDash order off and we’re timed (which messes with our ratings). It also seems like this only happens to me when I have to be places like the school bus stop in the morning. lol

The trash and recycling trucks are ALWAYS, purposely, blocking the roads (especially the side roads). They’ll purposely pull to the left/opposite side they’re driving, cars parked, snow banks, everything else, leaving no room for cars to pass. They’ll notice a car sitting there waiting, instead of pulling out of the way, they’ll take their time to grab the trash or bin and then get in, pull up and not move just stay holding up traffic. Never fails.

You have more patience than I, and others I’ve seen caught in this situation. LOL

I had plastic shavings in my salad once from Burncoat Pizza (I imagine from the lettuce wrappings). Never went back.

Wayne’s Pizza, on West Boylston Street, never disappoints.
