That makes me also wonder why AirPods pros (the earbuds) aren't stolen more. They're obvious, retail for $200-250+, and have the noise cancelling as well so people wearing them are less aware. That said, maybe they do get stolen a lot and I just don't hear about it.

OPs in grad school, temporarily making 23k a year, and in their early 20s. Id say saving 2500 is incredibly impressive all things considered. Soon enough OP will be making double in income at the very least and can start to save normally

The person is in grad school and in their early 20s, living like this isn’t a permanent thing.

I do T-Mobile connect and also let it lapse a few days sometimes when I don’t have any meetings or meetups planned. The savings are small but feels oddly nice given I used to spend 60 a month postpaid for the same service

What are you looking for me to say? You made a great point about the taxes, my initial number of 1500 was too high, the number is really 1320. I agree with your second sentence there as well, but that is a different conversation.

That’s a different question. My point was just that extremely extremely low rent is not necessary to make a very low gross income work. I wouldn’t advise anybody making 35k to spend 1350 on rent, it’d just a hypothetical, and no one is talking about one bedrooms.

They are, I checked on smart assets New York calculator tool. 23k gross is 19k post tax, which the OP confirmed. 35k gross is 27.5 post tax, so 8.5k higher.
8.5k more means 700 more per month. 620 is OPs starting number so that gets you to 1320

True it’d be like 1350 rent to make it even at 35k salary

That rent is def necessary to make it work on 23k. But if their rent was 1500, they could have the same exact budget by making 35k, which is still a really low number.

There’s an unlicensed dispensary I’ve been to in BK that’s right next to a prominent precinct. Either they just didn’t care about the risk or they feel very confident that the city will not be cracking down

So odd, TouchID works for me flawlessly and immediately nearly every time, whereas FaceID is slower even when it recognizes me quickly, and has way more errors.

It is a problem for me, probably about 3-4 on an annoying scale as your friend said. I often use my phone in bed with head half in pillow -- FaceID almost never recognizes my face in this position and I have to either move my head or use the passcode.
Even if I'm in a normal upright position, it has a higher error rate for me than TouchID, though it's mostly accurate and fast.
All that being said, the upgrade is totally worth it regardless. I went from a 7 to a 12mini, and it can just handle way more stuff and without delays/glitches.

I'm curious unless you're a troll, what does Murica have to do with it? Piazza Venezia is considerably worse, taking one top of mind example.

In general I have no strong feelings about Hochul but I was legit disgusted by her giving so much public money to the Buffalo Bills. If Zeldin had about 3-4 fewer red flags then I would vote for him.

That’s interesting. I wonder how it works if say you want to use it for a while then give it to somebody like a family member as a hand me down.
If it’s only on the new pros then it’ll take a year or two to filter. I imagine most people still have the old pros..I’ve had mine for 1.5 years and I’m hoping to get at least another year out of them
