Back in the pre-rona days, I did actually work for a tech company that gave us a transportation stipend (AFAIK it was given to all employees). It was ~150USD per month, IIRC. Didn't cover my commute time, but it did cover the cost of bussing to the office and back every day. (~1hr and 2.75USD each way every weekday; I was otherwise making 28USD/hr (later 35/hr) as a junior SDET.)
Then 'rona happened and the transportation stipend went away. Instead, we got to apply for reimbursement for the cost of our Internet every month, up to a maximum of 70USD/month (which was nice, although my home Internet cost ~85/month).
