It depends, I myself live quietly and don't really risk life everyday.
It's a combination of both I think.
You should enjoy yourself, but it doesn't mean you should gamble your entire life savings and risk everything.
Balance is key, and it is golden.
I am most likely gonna wake up tomorrow if not, I will be too dead to care.
GayHitIer t1_ja7fyjz wrote
You said it yourself, just live your life and be thankful for every day.
There really isn't anything else to do.
If we survive we will maybe get something closer to an utopia if not.... better pray that AI has some mercy upon its creators.

People laughed at the idea of falling in love with Ai, but trust me it will happen sooner than we expect.
The first AGI dating system is closer than we think.
People might call those who use it lonely, but who really cares, in the end it gets normalized like everything else.

Anthropomorphize Ai?
The AI wouldn't know the difference really, cause it had gotten used to its own perception of subjective time.
Though putting humans in that perception of time and yes we might go insane when every second is 9 million seconds of subjective time.

I don't get linking r/Futurology?
Why can't we just accept people have different outlooks on life?
Sure some of them are doomers, but most of them are just skeptics, which makes sense.
Singularity sometimes sounds like some techno cult, at least let us discuss with them.
Also downvoting BlackRl for no reason and not giving any reason or discussion is dumb.

True, while death doesn't scare me.
We need to put death in his place for good.
Consciousness is the most valuable thing in the universe.
If there's nobody to observe the universe it might as well not exist in the first place.

I agree, The biggest problem is the pro aging trance, people think death gives meaning to life.
Death needs to be put down for good, Death itself takes away meaning if anything.

If we make a cure to aging it will probably get rolled out quickly like the corona vaccine.
It would be stupid to deny people to live longer.
Also economic wise it would save a lot of money for countries.

Solving aging will probably be a slow progression from repairing your body to reversing aging.
Don't stress it, if Aubrey de grey is just on to something it will happen sooner than later.

ad hominem, also not everybody on this sub believes in some utopian salvation.
Most people here are quite realistic about the dangers that ASI poses.
Also why post this to a sub where you know it's gonna be biased towards sooner than later?
If you truly knew that from the start why post this post unto this sub?

I agree to exclude the schizophrenia posting and false hype that turns into disappointment.
I am really realistic about the singularity as well.
We need to take this sub to a new standard.
Maybe some rule about low effort posts without any scientific background?

Yeah, but it's nothing special it was only reversing some small things with intermittent fasting and small dose of sens.
What we will get in the upcoming decades will make this look like child's play.
When we have people living to 150-200+ We will have reached LEV, but for now just eat healthy exercise and keep your mental in check.
Neuralink imo is gonna speed everything up even more with fast access to the internet through your mind.
People will enhance their Neurocortex and become much smarter and have much more knowledge.
2029, 2036, 2045 is gonna be some insane milestones.
Nick Bostrom thinks we will have ASI very soon like around 2030-2040 with over 50%.
GayHitIer t1_j70xkz3 wrote
Neuralink is getting human trials this year, with Elon Musk getting one himself.
Sensolytics are getting more trials with mouses, apes and few safe human trials.

The difference is that Christianity is made up fiction to help people cope with the mysteries in life.
Technological Singularity is at least much more likely, the question here if it will be a soft take off or hard take off.
The rapture from "god" will never happen, but the technological singularity if it can happen it will happen sooner than later.
