There is a soup kitchen in Waterbury. that according to their website is open for breakfast and lunch. You may want to consider visiting them until your Walmart job starts.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your scooter. When you get a replacement you may want to speak with your insurance agent to beef up comprehensive coverage on your policy (or consider getting coverage if you don't already have it).

In my case, we lived in West Hartford on the Bloomfield border, and I rode my bike to Bishop's Corner or West Hartford center. Pharmacy newsstands and candy aisles, radio shack, toy stores, Lafayette, book stores, children's museum, town parks, libraries. That was decades ago, and things have changed, but I find this story sort of bizarre.

Reply to Natty Boh Bottles in DC? by rascalb7
Natty boh beer locator map. Suggest find liquor stores or markets (some Safeways carry it) that carry it from the map. A manager might be able to order a case of bottles for you.

Reply to Dress code at the Kennedy Center by theski25
Saw Miss Saigon musical that came with a follow up new years Eve party a few years ago. Think wore off the rack suit and tie, and a dress winter coat (they do have a coat check table). I probably was a little overdressed but fit in fine. Visited from CT and walked from the River Inn. However, they don't have a formal dress code (other than perhaps some private events or it's real conservative at an annual gala).

Reply to Pleasant Valley Drive-In in Barkhamsted has been sold by BobLI
Also got this message via email. Bummer.
Drive-ins have a lot of nostalgia. Drive-ins were more prevalent decades ago. But had to compete with Apple theatre by Ford dealer and Gilson dinner theatre in Winsted plus at home DVD's, streaming, cable, satellite, etc. Plus sort of in an out of way place by river (can be buggy). But they upgraded to a digital projector and it was pretty popular with family deals, double features, etc. Hope they return under new management, but we'll see if it remains a drive-in.
