Reply to There's a great movie to be made about Will Smith and that night at the Oscars. by Portmanlovesme
This is a Sorkin procedural if I ever saw one. All the walk and talk scenes backstage leading up to the slap. Just like, but better than, his Steve Apple movie.

Also SPOILERS:
Will Smith lives to make to the colony with the mother and son!! NO character sacrificing themselves in a movie ever makes sense. “Let’s see… I’m going to go in there knowing I won’t make it out alive. At the last moment I can lose control of the situation by giving up my life but I’ll never know if it worked.”

And what app you’re using. If I watch my digital copies through the TV app on my Apple TV I get the special features including commentaries and deleted scenes for many movies.

Maybe it’s just that Blair is so old school that he figured if he was the last man standing at the camp he would hang himself before he could be copied.
Also, regarding the 2000’s prequel my main objection is to the melting two faced corpse that the Americans find in the original movie. In the newer movie it’s a very graphic scene where the one Thing mashes his face into the other guy’s. That’s not how I ever pictured that Thing being created. The original artists clearly mean it to be a single melting face and the new movie changes that for this far less “believable” reason.

In OG Star Trek 2 when Khan is about to blast the Enterprise and crew. He demands Kirk turn over remote control of the ship to him. Kirk swears he’s about to transmit the codes to Khan and he lets Spock and the others know what to do. When he finally gives the order to blow Khan out of the sky he simply says: Here it comes…
