If you want to pay less in taxes, then you need to move somewhere else. The lack of sales tax is MORE than made up for in property taxes.

Reply to Do they hold any renaissance fairs in the area and how do you even get into something like that? by smdifansmfjsmsnd
Yes. One happens on Mother's Day weekend. There are also others in surrounding New England states that go on throughout the Summer.
If you are just casually interested, or don't want to devote a lot of time, you are perfectly able to just show up at ren fairs when they happen.
If you want to get more involved, I would look up a local chapter of Society for Creative Anachronism

I don't want to give out personal names, but here is the contact for the chief of the tribe.

The headquarters are in Vermont, but the tribe extends into New Hampshire. I'm sure he can help you out there.
I can also ask someone in NH if they are willing to talk with you, if you would like.

You can ask the local Native tribe (Abenaki), if they want some.

But there is way more infrastructure now, at least where I'm at. Investors know that people want to retire around here, and now houses are being built up all over where I'm at, before they even have a buyer in many cases.
It's no wonder that wildlife has been getting really bold lately.

Kind of wish people would STOP moving here. It's getting too crowded, which has started messing with the wildlife.

"Tiny homes are progressive, right? That will be really 'lit' with the youth?"
"Yeah, they'll 'yeet' with joy!"
"Great! They can afford a couple thousand buck a month, right?"
"Of course! I gave my kid ten thousand dollars when he turned 18. Doesn't every parent?"
