Gusts of 90 in the peaks in the bay area, 50 mph wind above 1000 ft. Still not a hurricane but not something to fuck around in.

Maybe but it's a lazy way to accomplish that. They could have had them tethered to the same main power and then had it split in the chassis and had a cord come out that plugs into the monitors for easy replacement. This has two entirely separate cords that require separate plugs.

They're even charged separately. They couldn't even be bothered to tether their power cords internally.

LA county alone has 9.83 million people in it, almost the population of all of Michigan. The logistics of dealing with unexpected weather events is difficult to compare between the two regions.
