Keep the paperwork and receipts for your appliances. Get to know all the sub contractors. Upgrade fixtures, cabinets and flooring. Eggshell finish for walls. What is the allotment for landscaping and make sure it's graded properly. Walk through the interior when it's dark with a good flashlight, this will highlight flaws that you would otherwise not see during the day(dents in cabinets/vanities, flaws in the painting, etc., flooring issues...

Reply to Thoughts on living in Mendon? by Junius_Brutus
They have a small beach and recreation programs for kids in the summer. They are currently overhauling a part of the beach (long overdue). Drive Inn is family friendly. Southwicks has a decent restaurant and special rates during the year for kids that will get you discounted entrance fees. They also have light shows during the Holidays. Just west of Mendon is plenty of outdoor recreation, bike/walking trails etc. If you like the ocean South County RI is about an hours drive with some excellent beaches. There has been a rumor that a grocery story is in the works...

A good campsite can definitely make for a more enjoyable trip. Empty sites that are a massive upgrade sucks.

Power vampires. Walk around your house at night with lights off and take note of anything still lit, that item is using power. Cable boxes, modems, routers, coffee makers, computers, smart devices, clocks, stoves, gaming consoles, etc., are all using power 24x7.

That sounds about right. Insurance is not free and the more you try to save on premiums the more it will cost you when you need it.

Breaking down a matress and box spring is no joke. So I assume there will be substantial fees added to disposing these materials. How about we ban the sale of cheap junk that is engineered to fail.
