Self checkouts are high theft risk registers. Extra auditing is part of the business controls practice.

If there were lots of high, paying jobs, housing was inexpensive and the weather delightful there would be hordes of people here. The lack of these three factors has kept things largely the way they are with people here willing to make the financial and lifestyle sacrifices that living here requires.

And it has kept Vermont from looking like New Jersey. Mission accomplished.

What is your argument for a 4 day work week? I couldn't figure that out. Was it intended to make the state even more attractive? Right now there is a influx of out of staters coming here.

The Vermont Housing Finance Agency estimates that the state needs to make 40,000 new housing units available by 2030 if it wants to return to a healthy market. And Maura Collins, its executive director, said achieving that goal will be “all but impossible” unless Vermont invests more money and overhauls its regulatory environment.
We are going to ruin the State.

That's why I labeled this as "opinion". Having lived and worked in dozens of out of state areas, and traveled to hundreds of others, I'd call it an informed opinion. There are plenty of crowded, noisy, dirty communities in the U.S. One Vermont.

I'd say it's working as designed, to slow growth and preserve the state environment. Unpopular opinion but adding thousands of units of housing would ruin the place.

You’re suggesting to raise the taxes until the owners surrender and sell. Don’t tell me what to do with my money. Don’t tell me what I can do with my property. Don’t tell me how to heat my house.

No storage issues whatsoever. I keep spare barbecue tanks in the shed at all times. That’s a great plan. It might also be worthwhile to chain the generator to something solid nearby while in use. During extended power outages generators are desirable acquisitions and they’re outside running unattended.
