If there were lots of high, paying jobs, housing was inexpensive and the weather delightful there would be hordes of people here. The lack of these three factors has kept things largely the way they are with people here willing to make the financial and lifestyle sacrifices that living here requires.

The Vermont Housing Finance Agency estimates that the state needs to make 40,000 new housing units available by 2030 if it wants to return to a healthy market. And Maura Collins, its executive director, said achieving that goal will be “all but impossible” unless Vermont invests more money and overhauls its regulatory environment.

No storage issues whatsoever. I keep spare barbecue tanks in the shed at all times. That’s a great plan. It might also be worthwhile to chain the generator to something solid nearby while in use. During extended power outages generators are desirable acquisitions and they’re outside running unattended.
