Hox genes determine head to tail positioning of appendages, they are not responsible for front to back positioning in bilateral animals (us).

In short: taking an insect as an example: they determine which segments get which appendages (antennae legs pincers) but they don‘t determine where in that segment the appendage appear Rotationally.

Additionally why not just use Rhino horn genes on horses? Doesn‘t say unicorns have tooth based horns.

Also: the narwhal ‚horns‘ (horns actually) are just their canines turned to the front. Usually just one grows outside their head, but two happens as well.

To transpose just canines… from within the box that make up the whole mandibular structure… seems like it would be harder than just creating new life at this point.

Oh btw the Saola, is a deer with a single horn, that is most similar to how unicorns are portrayed in contemporary art.

Just grab one of those for your research.

Not necessarily, any GP can test for hidden blood in stool though. Black stool is indicative of a bleed higher up in the GI tract anything bright and Tim’s likely hamprrhoids.

(And on the reverse black or blood coloured vomit)

You need to talk to your physician though, daily naproxen might be the best treatment option even with all the risks, But there‘s also other treatment options for arthritis, especially if you are using OTC painkillers daily.

Naproxen has cox2 inhibitory effects, if thus increases cardiovascular health risks. And like any nsaid it can cause chronic interstitial nephritis (kidney damage) in long term and or high dose use.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7869646/ for the kidney specific part.

This is true for aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, Diclofenac etc.

If you are taking in those fatty acids at much higher levels than the recommended dosages for a balanced diet, then yes.

Every food component you eat will have negative effects at higher dosages, just like eating too much fats, carbohydrates and protein causes eventual problem. The same is true for every micronutrient, bare a few that will just cause diarrhea if overdosed like vitamin C and prevent absorption of systemically toxic amounts.

The exact risk obviously varies massively, something like omega3 won‘t cause as much trouble as overdosing on Vitamin A for example.

Every effective medication will have side effects.

As always you gotta weigh the negatives with the be edits.

Which is why 500 count bottles of ibuprofen are so insane: it makes it look like candy. Pill bottles in general make people just grab a hand full.

Like how on earth does a 500 count bottle make sense when the otc guidelines for ibuprofen is 3 a day for 4 days max, and not for frequent use..

EmilyU1F984 t1_ix7kzvu wrote

Why did anyone even think that? Coxibes cause cardiovascular risk through Cox2 inhibition. All nsaids so that to some degree, or they would be useless. So all NSAID’s have cardiovascular risks associated with them, proportional to dose and duration.

Meaning they are generally save if used according to OTC ‚rules‘ over here: no more than 3 days for fever. No more than 4 days for pain, and not for frequent pain/fever without a physicians recommendation/prescription.

Selling 500 count bottles obviously doesn‘t help making them not look like candy.

Blood thinners do not thin the blood. They prevent the blood from clotting too easily.

In nearly all cases this does not actually improve blood flow/mechanics at all. Because blood is to flow properly in the first place.

However blood pressure medication can obviously improve blood flow to different parts of the body and thus improve blood flow to the stomach; or more importantly the small intestine, and thus do change speed of digestion.

However you give beta blockers to normalize blood pressure and heart rate. So at best you‘d just get regular digestion going?

Though the psychological effects of beta blockers would have a much more massive effect on digestion anyway: parasympathetic signaling would increases do to feeling more relaxed because of no palpitations.

It‘s 6 USD per year to test monthly, a non medical abortion runs you at least 300USD, having to birth the child risks you half a million or death and permanent disfigurement plus the psychological trauma of being forced to carry a baby to term.

Seems like with the 1 in 1000 rate per 3 years, it’s advisable to just test.

Mate I’m saying that‘s how it is, because it’s not standard practice. Individual physicians going above and beyond official guidelines is commendable but not standard practice.

Just like painkillers and anesthesia isn‘t standard.

Nah it‘s not recommended in the first place. That‘s the major problem.

Otherwise: 50 cents a month is cheaper than the eventual late term abortion or full term pregnancy.

The problem is people not being given adequate information to make informed healthcare choices. Not poverty itself. In this case specifically.

It‘s insane to me that people on continuous Bc are not recommended to do monthly pregnancy tests. Those tests are less than 50 cents when bought in bulk.

And you will most likely miss the pregnancy on an implant or IUD far past legal limits for abortion.

What bullshit is this?

Fentanyl was and is a prescription drug? Both IV fentanyl in a hospital setting and patches were around much longer than fentanyl contaminated street drugs.

Like what? Obviously you can get it from a pharmacy. It‘s an extremely important drug to reduce endless suffering in healthcare.

Maybe you are thinking about fake prescription drugs like supposed Oxycodon Tablets not containing any oxycodon but rather fentanyl?

But they are made by the same guys that sell heroin and fentanyl contaminated heroin.

They just press it into pill form to dupe people into thinking they are getting genuine OxyContin tablets or whatever.

If you get fentanyl from a pharmacy, you are likely suffering from terminal cancer, or another extremely painful condition, and on your way out.

Hey you can even get lollipops and nasal sprays with fentanyl, made for breakthrough pain. Because they only last an hour. For when you regular around the clock opioid pain medication isn‘t fully keeping the pain in tolerable ranges.

Also guess what: there‘s drugs much more potent than fentanyl that are legal prescription drugs! Omg how could that be?
