If the chef was eating out 3 meals a day, I would love to know how they were doing that on an average of $35 a day.

There is also an old public school is Larimer that is being turned into housing. Not sure who is funding it.

I really hope this church doesn’t get turned into a parking lot.

Have you ever looked at real estate for sale? There are plenty of buildings that are sold ‘As is’ all the time. Whoever buys the building then pays for the renovations to meet their needs. It would be foolish to demolish this church on a whim.

Old churches have been transformed into other uses that don’t use public funds. Church Brew Works is a great example.

I posted mostly because the church is a historic landmark in Bloomfield and with it’s possible closure that means the future of the building is uncertain. I hope that whatever happens with it, it won’t be torn down.

McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery is an interesting one to check out. It is on the older side and has some great views.

Duckfat has a frites shack at Oxbow. I’ve heard it normally has a shorter wait time.

Saratoga is so cute. I’d love to go back and spend more time then a quick overnight stopover. Maybe you can compromise and do half the trip off highways. So much to see.

Yes. I think it was about an 11 hour drive to Saratoga Springs on the first day. The second day was about a 7/ 8 hour drive with a detour through White Mountains in New Hampshire. Absolutely stunning fall foliage. I’m from Maine originally and make the drive up a couple of times a year, so it was very nice to take a detour for this trip.

I drove up to Maine from Pittsburgh on the “avoid highways” setting October 2021 and it was amazing. So many cool little towns. Definitely recommend trying this is you’re not in a rush.

I agree that bottles water isn’t great on multiple levels, but depending on where someone lives it might be necessary. I currently live in Pittsburgh and we have issues with lead and other contaminants in the water. It’s night and day better Maine water quality and Pittsburgh.

Lots of restaurants use Ken’s. Pickup a bottle and see if it tastes the same.

I’m not sure but definitely take the “backroads.” I drove up to Maine last year using the “avoid highways” preference on Google maps and it was a wonderful journey.

I think the old Immaculate Conception would make a really cool restaurant or event space. Again I would like this over a parking lot.
