Very proud of a new album me and my friend made. He is the main songwriter/guitarist and I played drums and produced. Progressive rock along the lines of King Crimson/Floyd/Tool etc.

He made this video for the first track with AI images. We will be releasing the whole album later this year.

Edit: song is called Foundation by RJ Troika

Lots of variations on "just ignore it" here, but that's harder than it sounds. Chances are you are hoping for positive acknowledgement when sharing something you're excited about, only to be rejected by the one upper. There's nothing wrong with wanting to share things, but you do have to know your audience. If the person you are talking to is an asshole, keep your expectations low. Save that stuff for your cool nice friends with basic human decency who will make you feel good about yourself instead. It's also not the easiest thing to admit to yourself that someone you thought was your friend, turns out to need special distance because of immature tendencies.

Back in the college dorms, when itunes let you listen to other people's libraries on the same network (basically the whole building), there was of course software that allowed you to download it as well. And every itunes update made it stop working, until the next update of the download software. God, so much music

Frankie Rose covered the cure's seventeen seconds album. I was bummed after I bought it on Bandcamp as soon as it came out, thinking it was going to be a new album of original music (I like the cure significantly less than Frankie Rose). But it's a good cover album.

Neil found there to be no solution that involved him continuing to live. Many people are aware of the enriching qualities of the arts and still choose a traditional career. Neil did not feel he had this choice. I think the only influence from Keating was opening his mind up enough for him to do the play, which led him to realize that he needed to be an actor or he couldn't go on.

Millennials' generation, stereotypically and otherwise, was raised by Boomers who were living in an unprecedented era of security and ate the message of this movie up. It was a lucrative theme for movies of the time. You are unique, you are special, you can do anything. That is the narrative of people who have not had to worry about survival for decades. Now you see more and more depression and disillusionment as a result. So you are correct. Carpe diem is one side of a duality. Survival is essential. Nurturing your creative spirit is important as well.

What a great thread! So many awesome suggestions!

It has been taken down since, but years ago there was a YouTube channel where a guy was just putting up videos of classic 12" vinyl extended-mixes. Abracadabra was on there, and Heart Of Glass by Blondie, and I Just Died In Your Arms by Cutting Crew, and I Didn't Mean To Turn You On by Robert Palmer, and like fifty or sixty more, and they all sounded really good on the vinyl, even through YouTube.
