It costs money to dig up part of a sidewalk and plant a tree. There is a lot of labor involved.

If the Gateway Center is open to the public, it would be discrimination to bar the homeless from entering. You think that's a good idea?

The walkway is a public safety issue. People shouldn't have to cross the six lane McCarter Highway to get between downtown and the train station. It is not just about the businesses.

Not defending Leon or the lack of a hearing, but the headline is kind of BS. Test scores have plunged in basically every major city since Covid and a superintendent alone isn't going to bring them back up in such a short period of time.

It's going to be open 11am to 3pm two days a week because a homeless person might try and have a cookie so they can't keep it open for real hours. The gateway center is such a shitty scam and should have been demolished instead.

I made a donation. Deaf's Delight is such an asset to the community.

The "universal" income pilot is incredibly small. I don't see why any financial assistance should be given to Ivy League grads by the city when the programs for poor people are severly lacking.

Good issue but disagree with the brain drain piece. Why should Ivy League grads be given financial incentives when so many poor and working class Newarkers are struggling?

Extremely funny that you have redefined the word bigotry to mean anyone opposed to flooding neighborhoods with luxury housing.

There is no such thing as bigotry against people in luxury housing. That is ridiculous. Everyone wants more housing - we just want apartments that are affordable to everyone. 100% luxury developments are not goot for neighborhoods.

People pay a sales tax on soda. Every consumable good is taxed. And soda is regulated by the FDA as is almost everything you eat and drink. You are arguing for zero taxes and zero regulations. That is idiotic.

I don't see why they need to wait for restaurants to open to keep Gateway open later. It's a safe path for crossing the McCarter Highway.
