When I visit Lake Tahoe, I am always overwhelmed with its incredible beauty. I wanted to take a picture that captured the essence and magic of the lake and its surrounding mountains. This image which was shot just a few weeks ago was after a snowstorm but just before the severe storms that brought 15 feet of snow. My goal was to capture deep color of the lake with the pristine snow in the foreground and on the mountains. A bonus was the clouds silhouetting the mountains, creating the reflection in the water.
The onset of fall colors, cool air, and reflections in the water create a serene and calming scene. This is on west end of beautiful Arcadia National Park in the northeast corner of the USA

Interestingly, it is the brown sand that gives you that beautiful yellow to green to deep blue color gradient in the water.
