Reply to ELI5: Why can’t we make spaceships that are seen in shows like Lost In space? I’ve never been able to understand this. by FoxLoser
Super simple version is 1) we don’t yet have the tech to travel even through empty space at a rate that would be worthwhile. And 2) we DO have the tech to build massive space ships, but the financial cost is currently too great, with too little reward, for it to be worth doing so.

Reply to ELI5 why do you need a lot of money in your account to get a US tourist Visa? by strongr_togethr
Probably to ensure that you actually have funds available to cover expenses, otherwise folks might just show up and run out of cash then not have a way to get home

Reply to ELI5: How are bats able to hang upside down for a long periods of time without blood pooling to their heads? by Hopeful_Anything_257
Bats are a lot smaller than us and have a lot less blood in their bodies, so gravity has a much smaller influence on their circulatory systems than it does for us. Similar to how we can hang upside down for a lot longer than an elephant would be able to.
