Lived in south Florida, had a neighbor that had a true patriot flag next to a fuck Joe Biden flag, he was a not subscribed to critical thinking skills. Thankfully I was able to finally get the hell outta there, back home in the northeast where sanity is more common. A little shocked at how many Trumpers are up here, very different from 20 plus years ago when I left. The south is really a bizarre place.

Very true. I feel bad for my friends down there who can't get out, that and knowing they've never experienced living in new England. Having lived in several places on the east coast, nowhere compares to living here. Very grateful to be back home.

You got that right and angry unstable people. The state does offer some incredible outdoor environments once you get away from the pavement of despair. This is one of the only good things about the state. All in all a shitty place to live unless you like heat, angry people and lousy and performative politics

Try networking online in the queer community in and around Portland, maybe someone can find you a roommate or offer good advice on what's like for them around here. I live south of Portland and for the most part tolerance is common, I relocated from Florida which oddly has a very large gay community which isn't tolerated. It's sad that people that are not Christian have such a hard time living happily. Good luck. If not Maine, Rhode island might be a place to look into as well
