Obviously they did. People made everything about it. The question is to what extent they did it deliberately.

Does any group truly need protection from words any more or less than any other group?

Of course it is biased. It's just a reflection of the culture that created it.

Reply to Genuine question, why wouldn’t AI, posthumanism, post-singularity benefits etc. become something reserved for the elites? by mocha_sweetheart
Just like any other new technology, it will be reserved for elites until the cost comes down to the point that normal people can afford it. If it becomes incredibly powerful, it's likely the elites will try to prevent it from leaking out to the public. But once it does get leaked, the genie can't be put back into the bottle. At that point, every authoritarian country will start shooting themselves in the foot by desperately banning it.

I don't see how they haven't already. Alphabet is much more valuable to the world. Everyone i know uses Google products/services every day, but only a few people i know use apple products. I see Google as a necessity and Apple as a luxury.

It's not developing slowly, you're just being impatient. If you really think the problems are that easy to solve quickly then you should be solving them yourself.

The only problem we can be certain of is the lack of transparency. Regardless of which direction or how strong the bias is, they should always be transparent about how it works.
