Keep your eyes open. You'll find them everywhere.

I live in Canton and have at least 3 on display. I've hidden them all over the place in/outside my house so I've kind of lost track.

Part of the reason is what u/Ghoghogol linked (the movie), but part is also the chintzy 1950s "Hon" aesthetic in general which was super prevalent in Baltimore for a long time. It's been kind of dying out, with the exception of Honfest. I think Denise Whiting (blech) had that whole thing on life-support for a while.

We're goofy here in Baltimore. And we think it's cool.

EDIT

Wait until you start seeing Camark Cats everywhere, too.

Welcome!

If you're down to hang w/ a creative bunch, check out Creative Mornings Baltimore. They're a really welcoming group, and their speakers (once a month) are top-notch. You do not have to be "a creative" to hang with them. I'm an anxious, introverted veterinarian and I love their crowd.

If you're into board gaming, checkout Canton Games and No Land Beyond in Charles Village/Station North. They also have Crokinole nights where you're invited to grab a pickup game.

There's a lot of great shit in the City. Explore!

This.

Get off of your cell phone when you're walking, pay attention to where you are.

If you're working on their campus, they have a campus escort they will take you from your building to your parking garage/apartment if you feel it's necessary.

Welcome to the City, u/whatugonnadowhenthey ! Come into the City with a positive outlook and you'll love it here.

Take a walk around Fells Point for nightlife/drinks. Avoid anywhere owned by the atlas group. For fancy drinks head to the Sagamore Pendry. For serious cocktails head to Dutch Courage gin bar.

For outdoors in the City, head up to Druid Hill Park, which also houses the Maryland Zoo and a botanical garden. You can also walk around downtown, up to Mount Vernon and Belvedere for a really great walk and food. Finish off by grabbing drinks at Owl Bar in the Belvedere Hotel.
