My high school didn't do this or superlatives. We also didn't have kings/queens for homecoming or prom. I'm pretty sure we were the only school in the county that didn't do these things, though. Even though I'm used to seeing it through pop culture, it's always feels a little foreign to see in real life, especially the mean-spirited stuff.

This is fascinating to me because early copies of the pinball game Taxi featured Marilyn, but legend goes that it was hastily changed to a brunette "Lola" when Monroe's estate threatened legal action. Perhaps it was a bluff that worked?
