I'm going to watch some documentaries about these things - it's been a few years since I've seen one, and there must be new stuff out there - some of the most fascinating work ever, the level of detail, and how much they can figure out about their last few hours (normally incredibly violent). Pete Marsh and Otzi are on tonight's list.

It's a Siamese. It's often hard to tell "I'm mad as heck" from "Hi pal - good to see you" in Siamese. Even when heard from 2 blocks away, which I believe is the safe limit for hearing damage.

Shows the difference in scale between the US and the UK:-

They're both coastal features, on the opposite sides of the country... In the UK, it would never be called nearby 😁

Still though, it is amazing that we can see interactions between humans and animals from thousands of years ago, we can see their toeprints.

Slightly tangentially, there was a report in World Medicine (when I was a lad, so some time ago) about a man who had an accident driving home, he couldn't remember the accident at all, it was thought to be retrograde amnesia, but then he said he often arrived home without remembering the drive. It transpired that he drove past a stand of trees, and at a particular time of day, the sun shining through the trees could cause a strobing effect in the cockpit of the car inducing a mild seizure - he had no prior history of epilepsy, but further studies showed that he was susceptible.

Go to YouTube and look up "Time Team Classics" - this was a TV series from about 20 years ago that ran for a decade about archeological digs in Britain, one of the most heavily dug countries in the world. Every time they dug, they found something new - as Calvin said "There's treasure everywhere!"
