Haha “yuppie paradise” I love it. Yeah I had family living here 10 years ago who are baffled with the turnaround over here.

No not at all. The most direct way to downtown is if you go past the Charter/Deloitte (I think is the other) buildings under the bridge right next to the train station, It’s all really nice corporate buildings.
The unsafe area (in my opinion) over here is if you’re headed to like Colony Grill or ShopRite, but you’d have to pass through a smiles sketchy area even if you lived downtown. Coming from living down town, Harbor Point is really such a solid home base.
But to each their own. After living in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Downtown Stamf,a large part of my happiness over here comes from being in a position where I only experience the hustle and bustle of city life when I want.

Live in BLT owned Harbor Point waterfront building right now..
I’m not sure about escape but the anti-BLT is really overblown. I’ve had 12 friends live in multiple different buildings in Harbor Point and all have loved their experience. It is more expensive over here though but essentially pay for a safer, more luxurious, and calmer area than any other option in Stamford.
Take a tour of a few different buildings across town and get an idea for yourself. To emphasize, the anti-BLT shit is drastically overblown, there is no other buildings/area as nice as Harbor Point in my opinion (I lived downtown for 2 years, it is quite miserable compared to this area).

If you have a dog you will be doing yourself a disservice by not exploring Harbor Point.

I second this!!! Especially for a dog owner, like what?!? Avoid Harbor Point???
Having lived both downtown and now in one of the waterfront spots in Harbor Point I strongly strongly disagree on the Harbor Point/BLT avoidance. This area is incredible and 100x safer and more dog friendly than the rest of Stamford.
Opus, Beacon, Anthem, NV I’ve had friends live in (all had dogs) and they only had great things to say. I encourage you to come check out the area with the pup.
It does cost you a bit more financially over here but frankly you pay for luxuries and peace that I did not experience when I lived downtown

Reply to Moving to Stamford soon. Was wondering if there were any small gyms? by zxasqwcde
Gym situation in Stamford is terrible if you’re not looking for a crowd.
If you’re a novice and not looking to invest too much in a gym I’d recommend Planet Fitness. Just go, keep your head down, and get to work.
And LA Fitness in Stamford is AWFUL. Dirty, crowded, and very poor gym etiquette.
Source: Just joined LA from Chelsea Piers. Worst mistake ever. If you can afford it, Chelsea Piers is worth the money.
