Reply to My Grandmother’s oven, circa 1966. Many holiday meals were cooked with love here, right up until the day she passed. Aside from one shattered glass door that was replaced, everything still works! by _Mr_Roboto_
It’s amazing the stuff old people still have in their home. My grandmother has old cast iron sinks and tub from before the 60s. Her oven, dryer and fridge are all from the 70s. She keeps a service plan just so she doesn’t have to replace the parts. It’s wild.

Reminds me of Drug Fair. Are they even around anymore? Walgreens and Rite Aid just killed them.

Did this to myself at a Wawa at 5am about 15 years ago. There was a person next to me who saw it happen and just shook their head in disappointment. Was soul crushing and an expensive repair.

And this happens with any store, not just Polish delis. Sidenote: Does anyone know a good place to get Kielbasa near Bergen? by BootPastaHeroin

Reply to Who remembers the Star Ledger comics? by johnmflores
My dad delivered the star ledger as his side gig for years. My brother and I spent a number of early mornings helping him assemble the paper and deliver them. It was followed by a few orders of grand slams from Dennys. Newspapers are all but dead but the Sunday comics were a staple.

There’s also the Route 9 express which is where most of Brooklyn/Staten Island migrates to.
