I talked these guys 2 years ago about doing a design for my brother and they were very nice and worked with native plants as well as the building fences/hardscaping. I am not sure if they would work in Jersey City but worth a call in the winter to find out.

I have heard 2 stories on the origin of the name. One is that mosquitos would come when the wind blew from the west over all the pig farms of Secaucus. The other is that water coming up from an underwater spring in the park attracted mosquitos. Personally, I don't recall getting bitten there.

Here is the advisory and recommendations on how to cook. Everyone evaluates risks differently. I have eaten fish/crabs very sporadically over the years from the Hudson/ NY Bay. I always found it strange while fishing when somebody came by overweight and chain smoking saying they never would eat a fish from the river. Certainly their odds of cancer (if they don't die of heart attack first) would be higher for someone who smokes/has unhealthy lifestyle.

They are blue claw crabs (the same kind Chesapeake Bay is famous for) so they definitely have culinary value.

I would be curious in walking past this house if I knew where it was and see. It did look a little boxy from the outside but certainly an improvement from how it looked pre-renovation. I have to assume they got rid of the ugly chain link fence fence in the front.

Reply to Jersey City dog friendly? by BerryFit3491
good morning - I had another recent thread as we just got a dog 10 days ago. One of the things I was curious about was bringing a dog into establishments - what kinds of place are good with dogs? I know places that prepare food are supposed to be a no-no but what other places are good? My dog is about 10 pounds and we are getting her used to carrying case.
