This would have been me as a kid.
I used to stuff weeds into the drains on my block to "feed the Ninja Turtles." My elderly neighbor would just smile and nod like I was doing a good thing, and then pick it all out after I went in the house so that the block wouldn't flood next time it rained. Lol

Yeah, back in the 90s there were always pizzerias charging $1.25 or $1.50. I'm pretty sure that's why the dollar slice places became such a novelty.

Yeah, but that's not what people are usually talking about when they come on here and circlejerk about how "most cops live on Staten Island."

True, indeed. I assume the cops living in Manhattan are living in rent controlled apartments they grew up in, or still living with family. Probably mostly Black and Hispanic cops living Uptown. But idk for sure.

Only 10% of NYPD cops live on Staten Island. There's a higher percentage living in every other borough but Manhattan.
It's just a meme that everyone assumes is true.

He actually got banned from the parade for his pro-LGBT stance: https://www.silive.com/news/2020/03/councilman-joe-borelli-they-banned-me-from-marching-in-the-st-patricks-parade.html

Believe it or not, you actually have to have at least 60 college credits to become an NYPD officer (unless you're ex-military). So most cops you see around have gotten at least halfway to a bachelor's degree.
Which probably says a lot about higher education in this country.

I did that exact thing for a stray cat that was following me on the street like a month ago, lol. I thought he just inexplicably loved me at first but then I realized he was actually following my bag of food.

My wife (who isn't from NYC) makes fun of me because I instinctively fold any and all pizza, including Domino's and small frozen pizza slices. And I legitimately didn't know that wasn't a universal habit until a few months ago.

I think it gets a little dicey for native Emirati Muslims (like they're technically not supposed to drink but it's not entirely enforced), but the country's population is 89% expats. Which includes a lot of people (mostly Indians, Pakistanis, Filipinos, etc but also Brits, Americans, Africans, Canadians, etc) who were born and raised there.

Abu Dhabi already has a ton of bars and nightclubs that sell alcohol. So a non-alcoholic bar wouldn't be a cultural problem.

We used to play in abandoned houses/buildings and on the top of a mile-long stretch of abandoned elevated train stations.
Our parents especially hated the second one but that just meant that we'd duck a little lower while passing through the portion of it that overlooked our street.
