There's a lot of bad drivers in wa state. Even those that think they're good drive like aff holes half the time. Not sure why but people think the speed limit is 12+ over and they'll drive like d*ks trying to keep that speed up. Come across someone doing 4-6 over and all hell brakes loose. Good lord people if you want to do 55 on surface streets just take the damn freeway!

Trust me a lot of people are clueless around here to turn on lights.

I was taught:

Lights on = safety.

lights off = certain doom for an accident or mishap.

I commute home any where from 10p-2am and I can't tell you how many vehicles do not have any lights at all. I'm sorry people but if you get into an accident wit ha driver that has zero lights: The driver driving the no lights car is more at fault for driving an unsafe vehicle.

80k and you can't pay rent? Seriously... You must be bad with bills because I could manage a 1.5k apartment on a 32k income. Things were tight but doable. Occasionally picked up temp work to get some additional income. Good lord I managed to buy a 350k house with a 200k loan and paid it off in <10 yrs due to working 55 hr work weeks.

Correct. Houses range any where from 250k-1billion easily. They must be restricting them selves to 600k+ homes. Sorry but they'll need to take out a mortgage at that point. I send my payments off monthly using bill pay. Really not all that difficult. Hell they could afford 2k in rent every month. Though a mortgage would be roughly the same as long as it's a set rate.

I only pull in about 38-50k annually and you're doing a hell of a lot better than me. Keeping in mind about 30-40% of my income goes towards bills/mortgage. I was sick of paying rent so I just swapped my rent for a mortgage. If you can't pay 100% of the mortgage just pay the interest to not accrue more. You could easily save about 30-50% of your income and have enough for a house in <10 yrs.

Start watching google maps to see if it is worth the commute or not. I'd highly suggest a home within about 1 hr of work to make it tolerable. WA state is strong in employment and you won't have problems finding jobs. You just have to be willing to do them. If you don't mind living in a nanny state you'll be fine. Most people are so use to it it doesn't even bother them. The ones that are rule fighters or don't like any government figure have a hard time with it. You could always try moving out here try it for a year or two and see if you want to stay or not.

I live in king county and it has a strong job market. Redfin is a good place to look at housing. WA state is a wee bit expensive but if you can find a place where you can live in your budget you're fine. Minimum wage in WA state is about $15/hr. If you can take in $35-50k annually you'll manage just fine.

Housing is a bit expensive but if you can room mate with someone you trust to cut the costs in half. I'm fortunate and own my own home so my finances are very different. I only work for health insurance now and use funds from my job to pay the bills instead of using my nest egg in investments. As we all know society crashes now and then and yes I've had to set up my investments to be income producing for a few years. I use bill pay through my bank to auto send off to my bills each month. All I need but do is make sure there's enough in checking and all is good. I only mail 2 checks a year because I don't do direct withdrawal as it's not safe and I've had bad experiences with it.

You have two options:

Pay the ticket or hire a lawyer.

If you don't have the funds for a ticket? Why the hell are you driving a scenario where you're basically setting up your self for one?

I can't tell you how many people I know that have been hit by uninsured motorists. You're gambling your entire fortune by doing this. Insurance at least protects your belongings at the physical level. They must legally go after insurance before they can take away your physical belongings and any savings.

These days it can be just as expensive to buy an already built house compared to clearing the land, prepping it for building then build. We looked into the cost of clearing a land and dumping a manufactured home on it. More expensive than just buying a new already built house.

If it is your dream location then by all means do it! In decades gone by it use to be cheaper but now it's not.

I agree too many drunk people out there. I came across one a few days ago.

What for most people that would probably limit them to 1-2 drinks? Depending upon body weight and height. I'm talking about a standard sized not over weight 5'-6' individual.

In high school I lost about 10 of my graduating class to drunk driving. They decided to get hammered after graduation and got so drunk they ... Let's just say none of them lived. I still miss some of these people today. Don't believe me I will scan my high school yr book and create a post. I ain't lying. Because I was a good friend with one of these individuals.

Hire a lawyer specializing in this type of thing. If police see you violating rules of the road and doing speed limit is being unsafe (due to weather conditions or traffic) yes they can pull you over. Most you can do is request a court date, do your research and fight it.

As another post suggested you can request the officer to show up for the court date (for the rebuttal) and they don't show they generally waive it. 8/10 times I've heard my friends say they don't show because they're too busy to take time out of their schedule or never get word of it. (I suggest my friends that get tickets in camera areas to do this because the one assigned cop to those cameras often can not show up for the date.)

The state regulators probably finned them and shut down their liquor license. They must now renew it. QFC came close to loosing theirs and they decided to go extreme and force customers to have their id scanned. You can refuse please just don't be an @$$ about it. Thank you. No id no sale. It doesn't matter if you're 55+ all get checked.

Ask for a payment plan. If you have good credit they are usually good about offering you one.

$250 isn't that much money if you are wise about your finances. You can fight it off in court but few people that take it upon them selves often end up loosing. You should find a lawyer specializing in speeding tickets.

Good lord 30 mph over the speed limit. Just suck up and pay it. Reckless drivers are the ones causing all the accidents. On longer car drives use cruise control to assist in keeping speed limit of the car. If you're doing 25 mph or more you can use it. This has saved my rear over the years from getting tickets. Unless you have smart sensor technology I would not advise using it in rush hour due to all the stop and go.
