It doesn't say they can't identify who they were enslaved by, learning and recording the names of slaves wasn't that common, and digging has been one of the most common labors in history. What exactly is your issue?

If they did that there wouldn't be any ambassadors left except the US. As it stands Israel is pretty ok with their actions and the consequences.

That's still quite a bit cheaper than one jet and clears out some of their ammunition and tracking capacity so the jet has a better chance of getting through.
