Stonewall is original and adds to the character of the property. Evergreens for privacy and the area looks nicer with the more trees and vegetation. Usually any other fence is for pool fencing requirements and or security.

If your utility has a proper tree trimming program you would likely have fewer outages. Sounds like CMP is failing in this area.

Most outages are not from large trees. They are the average tree limbs, rotted trees, and your average trees along the road. Those are well supported facts. Do large apparently healthy trees cause outages. Sure but why not focus on what will solve the majority of problems.
CTrandomdude t1_j1seenf wrote
Sounds like CMP needs to up the tree trimming efforts to get ahead of these outages. It would be interesting to see what they are spending on trimming compared to VT and NH. This type of comparison would be helpful.
I further think people need to take responsibility and be self sufficient. You live in an area where power outages should be expected from time to time. They will likely occur in winter during storms and bitter cold. Generators are affordable and easy to use.

It’s only been 2 years!! That’s not long. You said you have to write a victim impact statement so I assume you not only had a dui but you hurt someone. How much did the insurance have to pay to cover that claim and or lawsuits.

You won’t have many options if any. There is a vet shortage and your challenge will be getting any vet to accept new clients.

Raising taxes on anything will not fix your housing issues.

To answer your question. The answer is NO. It is not any employees business as to what any private owner profits. Why? Because that profit or loss does not determine an employees pay. Very simply the open market determines the pay scale for most workers.
Having difficulty getting or keeping qualified candidates for a position leads to higher pay. Having an abundance of qualified applicants pushed down wages. It’s simple and the open market takes care of this.
The business owners are taking 100% of the risk. They may profit millions one year and loose millions the next.

That’s bullshit. The problem with domestic cases is they are hard to prove. You have many “victims” that are unreliable, addicted, lie, and change their stories. Use the courts to help in custody disputes or to get favor in a divorce.
You have many cases where the husband gets arrested one week and the wife arrested the next.
These types of cases are quite common for the police and courts. When you get one in a thousand that end up as serious.
The problem is many grown adults are by in large dysfunctional. Then we ask the courts to somehow fix idiots overnight.
I think CT does fairly well in dealing with these cases and nothing needs any drastic changes.

And yet here is an example of an immediate response to not appearing in court with an arrest.

Explain how housing would work in your utopian society? As no private money can be used it must all be taxpayer money and run by the government right? Which government agency is it that works well, costs less, and provides good service? Please explain.

Your ignorance is astounding. The landlord is risking their investment and property. They take the risks when the prices go up or down. When the renters trash the property and don’t pay forcing eviction and months of no income to cover expenses.
In what world do you get a better product if there is no financial incentive to risk your capital.

Realtors do not set the market price. Market prices are based on units that sold and have nothing to do with asking price. Further the ultimate decision on price is up to the property owner who is listing the property.

I know what’s worse. No landlords. You know people that put their own money up to provide housing. That would leave only buying and public housing options. And we all know how nice public housing projects are.

Reply to Fewer people want to be Connecticut officers, recent violence against police may be to blame by lokitdwn
This has been trending for some time. Very cyclical. When private sector jobs are readily available it is harder to recruit officers. When that market gets difficult (very soon) you get plenty of applications. Yes the trend in decreasing benefits and pensions hurt a little but the pay is still very high.
The perceived lack of respect hurts as the people drawn to this type of work seek respect.
The overall economic disaster coming will bring plenty of applicants.

They are allowed to rip us off because they have bought and paid for our politicians and PURA. They hand out jobs to their family members and to those retiring from office as payback. They have been doing this for years and it has paid off. They get generous rate increases and they coordinate occasional high requests allowing the state to act all upset and deny it or agree to the lower one which was the plan all along.
This is not likely to change.
