Totally agree, they were very special teachers! And it's so hard to find non-power, non-heated yoga in this part of CT, which made it that much better.

I have some back and shoulder issues, as well as just general stiffness and find that teachers with 500 YTT hours tend to pay more attention to students' reactions, and are wayyyyy more appreciative of modifications, cuing support with blocks, etc. I always look for that if possible when trying a new studio.

If you do try Afterglow, you might try Jane Krantz. I did some of her pre-recorded classes during the pandemic through Vasu and thought she had good flow. I just read on their site that she has restorative training, which is also super helpful for me. Report back if you go!

From Instagram, I thought one of them moved west, pretty permanently. I was bummed, VASU was a great studio and I loooooved their sprays and oils. Afterglow is a newer yoga studio in the same building with at least one of the other teachers from VASU, but I’ve never been.

Yes! I lived in Denver and the booklets they send out are amazing. It gives people a chance to understand each issue more thoroughly and the fact that you pretty much HAVE to vote absentee in Colorado meant I was filling out my ballot with my booklet and Google in front of me. Definitely felt as if it were the most informed decision making I’ve done.
