Being honest with current reality is strength. Pretending that a law passed 200 years ago removed the injustice and impact of slavery from a society is folly.

Now, if they could just address slavery as they're addressing lost art and cultural items, then that would be great.

If you adhere to this tip, remember to not carry said knife or scissors through the airport and have them taken, as I've now done five times.

Fun fact: When we bought our house in Oregon, we had to go to a lawyer to remove a clause that said "No Japanese" can buy this house. It was in the deed. I had to pay to get that removed so I could buy the property.
