I just went on Autotrader and used an Atlanta zip code and a 200 mile range and there’s plenty of cars in that range with average yearly mileage for less than 23K

What was your escrow shortage last year in total? And what’s your tax and insurance look like for this year?

Excel, Google sheets, or pen and paper is all you’d need. Also take into account your benefits package as well.

But did you indicate you both work on each of the other’s W4? If not each of your incomes is being treated as the sole income for two people when in reality there are two incomes.

Oh yeah I brain farted my bad. Yeah with the two kids you owe ~$3300 excluding any retirement contribution deductions or any other misc. credits. It looks like you both selected “Married filing jointly” on your W4 without doing Step 2/work on Page 3.

So you should have one child to claim on your taxes for the credit correct? That being said you did under withhold by that $3K amount according to what we know right now

When you enter a country you need to declare currency on hand above a certain amount. $10,000 certainly qualifies as requiring declaration

Depends on the plan policies but generally you can only make changes during open enrollment or during specific life events so you could be stuck with two plans. HR should know or it’ll be listed in the plan documents

Interest is applied daily, it's not simply Sale price X interest rate so that's why the total cost is not what you expect. As far as getting rid of it you can see if your state has a cool down period or if the dealer has their own. If not then you can see what the dealer can do for you in terms of a buyback/trade-in but private sale will probably net you the most

Which would potentially just be more expensive than the parent's being taxed on investment gains.

As far as I'm aware there's no tax advantaged way to gift family members money that's not for education expenses.

I mean for a lot of things it was simply gambling but they could put on the mask of “I’m investing” when it wasn’t to make themselves feel legitimate. For others it was seen as a way to beat the 1% who are in the stock market because coins could do 500% MoM (ignoring it could also decline 5000% in minutes). Just a lot of desperate people looking for a way to make themselves wealthier which is a sad state of affairs

Somehow people always ignore that ICE vehicles are also crazy expensive. The dealer sold my 2015 Legacy for $20K and a well equipped Camry Hybrid is $40K out the door, cars are all just flat out expensive

The way some liquor laws used to work in Texas was bars could only sell liquor if they were a “private club” so places started selling lifetime memberships for $10 and as a new member it came with a free drink. Liquor laws don’t do anything; they’re so dumb. We also still have the laws that you can’t purchase liquor New Year’s Eve or Day so people just buy the day before Eve. Just makes stores more congested

Downtown Dallas has started doing this recently. All those downtown office skyscrapers are being converted into housing which is definitely a nice step to reinvigorating downtown to a place people live instead of just commute to
