It’s slightly different here in that the News in America serves mostly corporate interests whereas the news in China serves party interests. Yes there are conservative news stations and more liberal news stations but only insofar as they cover social issues, they refuse to comment on wage disparity or economic inequality to any major degree and always end up supporting bailouts for the wealthy while failing to cover labor issues in a meaningful way.

Well it’s good to know that Israel is fine with killing “human shields”. We already knew they were fine with killing journalists, children and “accidentally” killing civilians, but intentionally killing “human shields? That’s quite an admission.

Israel has closed and/or attacked 31 news organizations and has had no problem labeling anyone they like as terrorists. They literally attacked the offices of AP and Al Jazeera.

I’m sorry if people are running out of faith in their narrative.

This was a great read. I found it especially interesting that with a crew of 60 if everyone rowed for 1 hour per day on a rowing machine hooked up to a generator they wouldn’t need any other type of fuel source but the ship owners were worried about the impression that would give.

I think they’re misunderstanding these recent studies that show the ways mycelium “brokers”nutrient transfer between different plants. There has been some relatively recent evidence that mushrooms will “communicate” with plants with certain nutrient deficiencies in one part of the forest and plants with nutrient surpluses in other parts of the forest. The mushrooms will then transfer nutrients between these plants even if the plants are of different species. It’s actually some really interesting stuff but I think it’s been kinda presented in an elementary way to most people through podcasts or BuzzFeed style news articles.
