I hadn't thought of this before. Sending love 💛

My dad always told me that the crust is the most nutritious part, so I had to eat it. Somehow I did not realise I had been duped until I started watching the Great British Baking Show as an adult. I was just walking around in my adult (childless) life thinking that crust is more nutritious than the rest of the bread.

Additional tip: if you drink tonic (in the US this means soda with quinine in it, not a general medicinal drink) or take quinine pills then mosquitos won't bite you.
I drank tonic like it was water one summer just because I liked it, and I realised in the fall that I had gotten bitten exactly once, whereas usually I am the person around the campfire who is SWARMED with them. I'll take the dog for a walk in 90 degree heat and still put on long socks, pants, and a sweatshirt just to try to block them, and will still get bitten around the face. So it was definitely the tonic that helped.
DO NOT follow the above tip if you are on medication that would interact with quinine. If you can't eat grapefruit while on your meds, you can't have quinine. Check that shit first. It's much more common than you might think.
They also make bug repellent lotion, so there's an option other than spray!

I used sour cream instead of milk in an apple crumble cake recently for lack of any other options, and I'm NEVER GOING BACK TO MILK. The cake was softer, less dry, and stayed that way for far longer than when I had used milk. I've read that you can also put a little bit of lemon juice into the liquid you're adding, and that the acidity is what matters. Also self-rising flour! Lower gluten content means softer cake, often times.

Reply to LPT: To heat yourself during the winter, have a hot water bottle on your legs while sitting down doing your work, it will conduct through the rest of your body and will heat you almost the same as a heater would do at a small fraction of the cost. Energy prices are far too much, be safe this winter by LightConquersDark_
Hot water bottles expire! The material breaks down and will let far too much heat through - this is usually what causes injury. Check that yours is in date if you use this tip, and replace hot water bottles regularly.
Also, getting just a genuine wool thermal tank top has done wonders for me in keeping warm!

Same here. My fiance proposed last year and it only took me 6 months to have a breakdown and say I never want a wedding or to be married on paper. I (27F) don't see it as something that benefits me in any way that using a lawyer to gain some of the legal privileges can't also benefit me.
