Reply to LPT: When you and your SO are trying to teach your child to say mama or dada, try to teach them the term for your SO instead of yourself by [deleted]
Doesn't make sense to get worked up over whether the child says mama or Dada first. It depends on what the child finds easier to say: https://www.care.com/c/do-babies-say-mama-or-dada-first/
It's not like the child will just talk to one parent for the rest of his/ her life.

Reply to LPT request: How to reduce my anxiety? by quantafolia
Get a therapist. You don't have to worry about taking anti-anxiety meds unless you have a recurrent issue and your anxiety can be diagnosed as a disorder. Therapy will help you identify triggers and unhelpful habits.
Even reading books about anxiety can help - I found Dr Tracey Marks' "Why am I so Anxious?" Book pretty helpful.

I hate women in books where they're badly written. In books where they are well-written, they are compelling.
Both men and women writers can write women badly.
As a reader, our state of mind while reading a book is also influenced by life experience, so you may feel differently in a few years time.
Generally, there are very few authors whose work has touched me when it comes to women characters, so I can understand if your experience has been negative with such characters.

Reply to LPT Request - I've been a punching bag to my closest friends for years. What do I do? by germany_science_1
Make yourself less available. Get busier. Don't accept all their invites to hang out.
But most importantly, hold your ground when they get upset with you for not spending time with them.

Reply to LPT Request: How do you find time to clean/maintain the clean house while working fulltime and other responsibilities? by MoonlightPotatoes
Best bet is to restrict your movement to one single part of the house so that the rest of the house is untouched.
Deep clean the whole house when you have the time and do a mini-clean only in the area you move around in.
Not applicable if you have kids or pets or a partner.

Reply to LPT At work, don't make your voice heard loudly on something unless you think it's genuinely an essential issue or topic by [deleted]
This is the most vague LPT here.
Most people only speak up when they feel like it is a genuine topic where they need to be heard.
Also, it's important to speak up at work because that's how you set boundaries, and precedents for how you want to be treated.

Do you have a job? Have you been lying on your resume? Do you have other professional contacts who can vouch for you? If yes, then this one person doesn't matter.

Did you like all those posts just because you feared that one person would judge you for your political beliefs?
It doesn't matter now. Just delete your LinkedIn activity, or hide it from your network.

Reply to (TW: DV) What is with all the super popular contemporary novels featuring violence against women? by travelling_cirque
Women need to suffer to gain the reader's respect /s
Also, shock value matters a lot in readability. If someone didn't beat the crap out of the heroine, you would want to know how she handles the fallout right? Does she get revenge? Does she commits murder? Does the abuser get their comeuppance?
