Similar thing happens to my wife, and as much as she insisted the guy she hit was drunk, the police insisted that he's allowed to be inside the bar she drove through.

My wife was in a miner accident, how she got the car down there in the first place, I'll never know!

I think in SC comptroller is also elected. In Maryland the Comptroller is elected and the treasurer is appointed.

The comptroller oversees expenses, the treasurer oversees revenue.

If this is true it would be a travesty of the law, basically criminalizing thought. Given the source, I have my doubts as to the accuracy of the details and angle of this story.

And he's being charged as an adult, so I'm sure being in gen pop will help a lot. Hopefully he's found incompetent to stand trial and will be placed somewhere where he can get actual help.

I hadn't seen this news, but it's not surprising. Baltimore has a lot of vacant housing stock, so rehoming the homeless with federal support isn't super difficult if there's just a little will to do so (and the will to do so is usually what's lacking).

The only president to serve in Congress after his presidential term. He was a great lawyer, a great Secretary of State, a great Congressman, and a crappy president.

First, you can't get the avian flu from eating chicken or eggs. Second, that Popeyes has had significant customer service issues, so it wouldn't surprise me if the poor management also caused food safety issues.

The speed cameras on 83 in Baltimore city have really helped cut down the drag racing on that section of Highway. I would love to see more of that around the area. 29 and 795 are good candidates for expanding that.

The adversarial process of criminal prosecution in this country puts way too many innocent people behind bars because prosecutors have to focus on convictions rather than justice.

That's great news. Let's get more of these and further slow down the violence. Lack of anything better to do is the leading cause of teens and young adults of any culture or background to get into trouble. There is just a bigger lack of anything to do in the poorer areas.
