My research suggested the same thing.
If true it is unfortunate, but that did not deter me from buying a Speed Queen.
I took an inventory of the number of "delicate" items my family washes. I found that I was concerned about a very small percentage of my clothes.
I am not concerned with the washer being rough on jeans and t-shirts.

I am not sure what the OP is looking for, but i am looking for "slides".
Many of the recommendations are flip-flops or sandals with a backstrap.
I appreciate the Birkenstocks suggestion, but they will not work for me.
I owned a pair but they did not "mold to my feet". The foot bed did compress, but not to the shape of my feet. Admittedly I have broken my feet so my feet are unusual.
Any other suggestions for "slides" would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I have used thick white plastic ones for 10+ years with no issues.
I just throw them in the dishwasher.
Believe I got them at my local Asian grocery.

Speed Queen.
Especially if someone else will pay for it.
