I would say for a family of 3, around $180k-$200k would be ideal to live comfortably and not worry about budgeting each month. This leaves room for savings, groceries/food, entertainment, transportation, etc. - all of which aren’t cheap in Arlington and the surrounding area.

If you have a car, it’ll be at least ~$150/mo for parking. If you’re looking at the Waterpark Towers or Crystal Place apartment complexes, we’re currently experiencing price gouging by the electricity provider: electricity for our 2br apartment was $360 for the month. Make sure that whatever complex you go with uses Dominion Energy as the electricity generation company, NOT Calpine - otherwise you’ll be paying around $400-500 for utilities. Utilities will likely be around $200-300 if they’re using Dominion. Internet costs about $40.

I really like Smile Perfectors. I have gone to both the Crystal City and Rosslyn locations and had great experiences every time.
